Having good catches of Bluefish. These fiesty fish give a good pull. Also, the curious Porpoises are fun to watch. I still have a few spots open on the September 16 open boat day and now is the time to call for the big fall Striped Bass if you have to go on a weekend. Weekends are going but have plenty of weekdays open. Capt. David
Still catching Red Drum and Bluefish. Today, Eric McKenzie — age 14, caught his first Virginia Hook & Release Citation for a 47″ Red Drum. That will hopefully be a lasting memory for him, his dad, and uncle Stuart. This weekend with the cooler temps it really makes you look ahead to the fall fishing. If you have a particular time you want to go fishing please call and reserve now. I’ll plan on fishing this season through January and could possibly go into February if the fishing continues to be good. Tight Lines! Capt. Dave
The next open boat days where you can walk on for $100 a person for a full day of fishing will be Aug. 19 & Sept. 16. This price includes the mate’s tip, use of rods/reel, bait & ice. There is a minimum of 6 people and I always try to keep maximum around 10. Will leave from Coan River Marina in Lottsburg at 6:30 a.m. By reservation only. Please call 804-529-6725, 804-366-5050, or email through website to make reservations.
I’ve brought the boat back home to Lottsburg. We had a great time fishing down the bay and I appreciate everyone who chartered and hope everyone enjoyed it. We caught lots of sharks, some cobia, bluefish, spade fish, red drum, and mackerel. There’s a Spanish Mackerel run developing so those of you who have expressed interest now is the time to get your group together since they don’t stay around long. Call me & I’ll give you a run down of open days. Tight lines!
