Yesterday I couldn’t find the Red Drum but today I got back on them. We are also catching plenty of Bluefish, some Mackerel and even legal keeper Rockfish. The Rockfish is a good reminder that fall is coming fast so give me a call to get on the books for the great fall season.

Today we enjoyed having a group from Charles City County who really showed us how to catch the big Red Drum. We hooked & released 17 Drum weighing 30 – 40 lbs. each and had one citation going 46″ inches long. In addition to the Drum, we caught some Bluefish & Spanish Mackerel. I hope everyone enjoyed their day out on the bay and thanks again for fishing on the Bay Quest. Looking forward to seeing you again. Capt. Dave

The Bluefish have really come on with Spanish Mackerel mixed in. I also had a group that wanted to go bottom fishing this week and we had a great day–kept over 100 Spot and had 65 Perch (sorry I didn’t get any pictures). I still have days available in August for the $600 for 10 passenger special so give me a call if you want to book a charter.
During August you can bring extra people up to 10 for a flat $600 a day which will include everything except the mate’s tip and your lunch/beverages. If you have over 10 the cost will go up $50 for each person over the 10. This is a great savings of up to $200 per charter so email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 804-366-5050(cell) or 804-529-6725(home) to set up your fishing charter before school starts.
This week we caught Red Drum, Striped Bass, Speckle Trout, Bluefish, Spot, Perch, Croaker, & Whiting. A real mixed bag. Breaking schools of bluefish mixed with Spanish Mackerel are on the rise also. You name what you want to go after and we’ll do our best to find them for you. Contact me to set up your August trip to take advantage of the special rate of $600 for up to 10 people for the month of August, as well as, the variety of fish running right now. We won’t have this many species running at once for long so get your family & friends together and lets go fishing!
I took a group of students from Longwood University and they explored several topics about the river and bay. We caught fish, crabs, & oysters and they learned about each. I hope they enjoyed their time out on the water as much as I enjoyed having them and hoped they learned a little something as well.
