Charter Fishing on the Chesapeake Bay & Atlantic Ocean
Capt. Dave Rowe
The Bay Quest is a forty-three foot fiberglass charter boat, USCG approved for 15-25 passengers on the Chesapeake Bay and Coastal Atlantic. It is a comfortable sportfishing vessel with a large open cockpit for fishing or entertaining, yet has enough cover to protect you from the sun and spray.
We troll for trophy stripers, chum for "schoolie" blues and stripers, bottom fish for croaker and spot, jig for trout, or livebait cobia and sharks. At different times of the year you may find us fishing the middle and lower Chesapeake Bay, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, or coastal Atlantic from Virginia Beach.
We provide all bait and tackle needed for your trip and no fishing license is needed as we are fully licensed in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and the Potomac River.
The Bay Quest is the perfect vessel for ecology and marine study groups. Local schools charter us to examine oyster habitat, take water samples, catch live specimens, and explore the ecosystem of the Chesapeake Bay.
Entertaining friends or associates is another part of what we do. A boat ride on the Bay is a fun way to see local attractions or an evening cruise to a waterfront restaurant is a great way to end the day.
Capt. David Rowe is a local waterman who has made a career "following the water." The seasons of the year determine which fishery he participates in. Beginning at age 13, Capt. Dave has worked in the charter fishing industry first as a mate then later as a Captain. Off season will find him oystering, fishing or crabbing. With his working knowledge of boats, equipment, and the water he is a Captain who can find fish and provide a safe and enjoyable trip for you and your party. The last ten seasons Capt. Dave's son Matthew has been his mate on weekends and during the summer when his school schedule allows.
